GREETINGS TO THE TROOPS.
REPLIES PROM OVERSEAS. Wellington, Saturday. The following reply to his Christmas message to the New Zealand troops has been received by the Acting-Prime Minister who requests that it should be read in the cimrcheß on Christmas Day :-- "Our hearts are full of thankfulness to God that tha year has witnessad the cessation of hostilities, and that the coming year will see us reunited with our loved ones in a world worthy of brave men who have given their lives to make it better.—-Godley." New Zealand's Christmas message to its soldiers was sent out wherever possible to returning men on troopships, and the following reply has reached Sir James Allen from a troopship passing through the Panama Canal: —
"Troops greatly appreciate Christmas message from homa. Kindly convey greeting to all whom we hold most dear.'' Ths message is signed by Lieutenant-Colonel Colquhoun, officer commanding the troopship.
