DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS.
POSTAL FACILITIES.
The Acting - Postmaster - General infor.is Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P., that regarding tha mail service to Waitomo ard Marokopa it has been arranged to increase the service to twice weekly on conditions named to the deputation.
The post office &t Te Anga was opened two months ago. The Ohura settlors are indignant over ths curtailment of mail service from daily to thrice weekly, after having service for ten years. Vigorous protests have been sent to Mr Jennings, who has wired the Minister for an immediate explanation of the matter.
The question of inadequate payment to non-permanent persons employed in post and telephone work in outlying districts was brought up in Parliament last session by Messrs Jennings and E. Smith. The Post-master-General made a statement to the effect that the whole system was being enquired into.
