THE AIMS OF GERMANY.
PEACE WITH POWER. COMFORTING RESOLUTION. Received this day, 9 a.m. Amsterdam, Tuesday. The Central Committee of the German National Liberal party resolved that the result of the war can only be a peace which by the extension of the frontier on the east, west, and overseas give us political, military, and security against further attacks, and will repay the gigantic sacrifices of the German people. It must be made to continue till the Germans are victorious and the Committee will unanimously support any Government prosecuting these aims with inflexible fortitude. PREMATURE CRITICISM DISCOURAGED. Amsterdam, Tuesday. The Berliner Tageblatt characterises the National Liberal resolution as a grievous offenco agaiußt the General Staff and Imperial Authorities. The order prohibiting premature discussion on the aims of the war censures Basserman and others for attacks on Herr von Bethmann Hollweg.
