SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC.
On Thursday last at Hangatiki the Te Kuiti Methodist Sunday School held their annual picnic which had been looked forward to with eager expectations by both old and young. Although the weather prospects in the morning were rather dull, a bright and cheerful afternoon followed and the numerous games and raceß were greatly enjoyed by all. Abundance of rerfeshments were handed round during the day, while soft drinks could be had in galore. The paddock kindly lent by Mr Hart was well sheltered and proved to be an excellent picnic ground. There were over 160 persons present, and several declared it to be the most enjoyable outing of its kind they have yet attended in this district. Much praise is due to the officers and teachers of the school for providing such a pleasant day for the scholars and the many friends who joined them in their day of rejoicing. Shortly after 7 o'clock the train left Hangitiki bringing the happy party back again -to Te Kuiti.
