AMERICAN STRIKE RIOTS.
PITCHED BATTLE FOUGHT New York, Monday. A number of Austrian labourers who recently went .on strike from the works of the smelting works at Tacoma, in the State of Washington, fought a pitched battle on a hill overlooking the works. Several parsons were injured. A body of sharpshooters speedily silenced the Austrians after a fierce exchange of bullets. It is not known whether any of the Austrians were injured. The militia was ordered out.
