The fire brigade was called and the flames extinguished. After the brigade left a further outbreak was discovered among sacks of clinker twenty yards from the previous outbreak. This having been extinguished the police were called and discovered the building bad been visited surreptitiously by the removal of wire netting from the windows left open to allow the malt to dry.
