SHOPKEEPERS PETITION.
Auckland, Friday. Already some 300 shopkeepers in the city and suburbs have signed the petition which is being prepared for presentation to the Prime Minister. Copies will also be sent to Sir Joseph Ward, to Mr Bradney, and to seven other members of Parliament. The petition reads as follows:—"We, the undersigned shopkeepers and business people of earnestly request you to bring pressur? to bear on the Employers' Association at once, and not allow their stubbornness to ruin our trade. Business is paralysed."
