BOWLING.
OPENING TE KUITI CLUB. The official oDsning of the Te Kuiti Bowling and Croquet Club took place on Thursday afternoon The weather conditions were unfavourable but m spite of this fact a very large number of bowlers and visitors were present. Four rink; were occupied on the bowlder grecr, and the croquet lawns were well patronised. A putting green had 'aid down and was much appreciated The ladv members of the club provided a sumptuous afternoon tea. Mr A. Jui'an, president oi the club, welcomed the visitors and stated that he tho' 1 the grounds were in a wonderful condition considering that fern and ti-tree giew only a few years ago wb=re croquet and bowls were bein* played, and eulogised the splendid work done by Mr Fewer, ground superintendent. Mr J Julian struck the first croquet ball and rolled up the jack and declared ike green open. Several enioyable games were played, but later hi the afternoon h<?avy ram marred the proceedings. COMMITTEE MEE'fIMG. The committee of the Te Kuiti Bowlir.2 Club met on Wednesday evening' last. It was resolved that grev flannel suits be adopted as the club's uniform, and that orders for game be forwarded to the secretary without delay. Resolved that the match committee be instructed to grade plavers into two sections A and B and that the Julian Buckles be allotted to the pairs competition. Anv A grade player being tde to chose a B grade player as nis partner and challenge at any time. A fee or 6d per man to be paid by the chal- ■ Resolved that the Julian handicap medal be allotted to handicap singles, conditions, etc , to be aranged'by ih° match committee.
