MAKING MONEY AT HOME.

Every woman is keen on practical :noney-making ideas that can be carvied out by the average housewife in her home. To such of our readers we strongly recommend the June issue of Everylady's Journal, just to hand. Among the many money-making ideas will be found excellent articles on Irish crochet, embroidery and general huusehold decoration, but the most practical article of all is a finely illustrated one of "Raffia Work." This is the first of a new series of instructive articles by which it is hoped to teach readers of Everylady's Journal how to make pocket money in their own homes. It is written by an expert worker, whose instructions, accompanied by a number of excellent photographs, are very clear and practical. In this issue of Everylady's Journal Miss Alice Grant Rosman is very happy in her article "Stage struck Pilgrims from Australia." In this particular chapter she describes the advantages and disadvantages which lie in the way of stage-struck girls who go to London town from Australia. Among the interviews, which are always a bright feature of this interesting woman's journal, will be found talks with Miss Dora Ohlfsen, sculptor and artist, who was born in Ballatat, and has made a name for herself abroad; and Signor Ettore Cadorin, who marries Miss Louie Mueller, a well-known Australian singer. Other interesting fpatures of this number of Everyladys Journal are several articles showing how an increased cost of living may be offset by more economical methods on the part of housewives; a beautiful illustrated Nature story by Charles Barrett; the continuation of a story describing the adventures of a young Australian girl in society; and a further instalment of the fascinating serial by Mrs Humphrey Ward —"The Mating of Lydia"—which is declared by many critics to be the finest story she has written in recent yea's. Rounded out with a big collection of fashions, several free patterns, and the usual huusehold departments, Ihis June number of Everylady's Journal strikes us as exceptionally good value for sixpence.
