A BLASTING ACCIDENT.
- - -<*>- ONE KILLED: THREE INJURED. [BY TELEU-KAPH. —PB.ESS ASSOCIATION'.] Dunedin, This Day. Harry Smith, single, about 33 years' of age, was killed while putting in a gelignite plug at the north end of the Chain Hills tunnel. The explosion occurred prematurely, and Smith received the full force of the charge in the face. Three men working with Smith, named Baker, Hutchinson and Gardiner, at the time, received minor injuries.
