METALLING PROCEEDING. (

The vatiooß road works being carried out by the Waitomo County Council are now well in hand, and there is every promise that a much better seaBon will be experienced than was the case last year. -At Honikiwi, the contract let to Mr -Rothery, which wbb partly, completed ■' ' twe- miles of me*al which had to be • laid having been got through in excellent time. Mt Cameron's contract in the same locality has been resumed and given good weather should be completed shortly. The metalling of the Arapae road by Mr Innes is being pushed ahead and substantial work has already been accomplished. Work is proceeding busily on tne Hangatiki-Waitomo road, and the conR tracts should be completed by the end of the season. .. ~. 5n the Aria district the metalling -' "N theßotaka road is to be started Mewn Hickaon and West wno have the contact for metalling the first section, engaged in ttepr-limin.il- *ork.
