BOARD OF EDUCATION.
At the meeting of the Auckland Board of Education on Wednesday, the tender of G. 11. James was accepted for the erection of school building at Frankton at £350, the same tenderer securing the erection of a new school at Hautapu at £349. Matters referred to the Inspector included applications for aided schools atKinohaku, Korakonui, Mangawhero, Rangitoto (Otorohanga), Te Pu (Rotorua), Waimiha and Wairoa Falls (Waitomo). An application from Mr Gillander for a school at Waiteti Valley was declined. Mapara, Te Kuiti.-—An application is to be made for a grant for a school. Rangitoto, Kio Kio. The establishment of an aided school in a building on Block A, No. 1, was authorised. Ratanui, Te Kuiti. An application for a school was deferred. Grants.- —Application is to be made to the Department for grants for a school building at Pio Pio, and for the enlargement of the school building at Te Kuiti.
Niho Niho. The question of the erection of a boundary fence was referred to the architect. Otorohanga.—The erection of a shelter shed was authorised. Te Awamutu. -The architect was authorised to make the necessary repairs to the outbuilidnga, etc. Te Kuiti. -A grant of £5 for fencing the horse paddock was made, and a request for a grant for planting trees deferred. Pio Pio. —The construction of a separate school district was authorised.
