A bachelors' ball was held on Friday last in the- hall, at Miroahuiao, and a large number attended from Paemako and surrounding districts. •Messrs Fitzpatriclc and Trust were M's.C. and attended to the guests admirably. Dancing commenced at 8 o'clock nd the music was supplied by J. Whitinui. At intervals, vocal items were rendered by Mesers Fitzpatrick Connor, Battley and others, and Mr G. Elliott gave some excellent recitations. Dancing was indulged in till an early hour in the morning, and the function was voted one of the most enjoyable that have taken place in the district.
