TAUMARANUI POLICE COURT.
A sitting of the court was held on November 16th, before Messrs C. J. Ryan and A. S. Laird', Justices of the Peace, when William Leslie, for stealing twelve bottles of whisky from a railway carriage* was convicted and sentenced to one months' imprisonment. On a charge of committing an indecent act in a railway carriage, the same accused was convicted, and sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment, sentences to run concurrently. J. Rack, charged with obtaining board and lodging from C. Cate, Makatote, by means of misrepeseritation, was convicted and fined £2 and costs 17s, or in default one month's imprisonment, One month was given within which to pay the amount of claim, fine and costs.
