DOG TRIALS

PROVINCIAL TRIALS COMMENCE ON MONDAY. One hundred and sixty-one entries have been received for the Marlbor-ough-Nelson provincial trials, which will be run in conjunction with the Kaikoura Collie Dog Club’s annual trials. The trials will commence on Monday at 9 a.m., and will be held at “Dudley” by permission of the estate of F. J. Monk. Forty-seven entries have been received for the head, back, and hold in ring event, and 30 for the yarding event. The zig-zag huntaway has drawn an entry of 40, while there will be 44 competitors in the straight hunt. The draw for the order of running is as follows: ] Class 1: 1, M. Wadsworth’s Lass; 2, J. G.
