RABBITSKIN SALE.

SATISFACTORY VALUES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd, report that there was a fairly good offering at their sale on August 8, the firm’s contribution being over eight tons, representative of all districts. The demand was sonjewhat irregular, and towards the end of the sale values tended to be weaker. Best grades of winters, which are now in short supply, were eagerly competed for by exporters and furriers. Values on the average were 12d to lad per lb dearer. Spotted skins, outgoings and springs, were dull of sale and were cheaper by 9d to 12d per lb. The low grades were 3d to 6d per lb easier. The factory sorts the firm submitted were well got up and brought satisfactory prices. The offical range of prices were as follows:

Summers, 60id to 651 d per lb; first milky, 84d to 88d; milky, 64d to 70d; first winter broken, 80d to 84|d, second 75d to 79$d, third 59d to 62$d; third spotted winter bucks, 97d to llOd, does 85d to 974 d; second spotted winter bucks, 115 d to 123 d, does 123 d to 134 d; first spotted winter bucks, 127 d to 133 d, does 130 d to 135 d; stained does, 115 d to 119 d; furrier does, 151 d to 161 d; first winter bucks, 166 d to 179 d, does 173 d to 181 d; second winter bucks, 143 d to 159 d, does 167 d to 174 d; first winter blacks, 140 d to 148 d, second 125 d to 137 d; first winter fawns, 136 d to 142 d, second llOd to 129 d; first hare skins, lOld to 112 d, second 84d to 91d; summer weevily, to 30d; winter weevily, to 40d; horsehair, 31 Jd to 35d; good to super ferrets, 9/3 to 15/7 each; average ferrets, 1/6 to 3/6 each; third ferrets, neglec-ted; first deer skins, 6/3 to 6/5 per lb; stoat skins, 1/6 to 2/6 each.

The is listed for August 22, catalogues closing on August 15. The firni| is prepared to make advances on skins immediately they reach the store. Opossum Skins: Our sales are listed to take place on September 22, October 13, and middle of November. As the firm is expecting heavy deliveries, the catalogue will close at least seven days before each sale. At these sales ferrets are also offered, as well as stoat and cat skins.

Deer Skins: Sales are held periodically and the firm are disposing of parcels at the following rates:—Reds 4/9 to 6/3 per lb, fallow 3/ to 4/5, lb, fawns 3/3 each, Virginian 5/6 to 5/11 per lb.
