HUMAN INTEREST STORY.

Mrs Jack Wright answered a knock at her kitchen door the other morning to find a young soldier. Mrs Wright, with pail in hand, was just ready to do the morning’s milking. (Her husbano is a railroad man and on duty for the day).. The soldier asked if she woulJ like him to do the chores. Taken by surprise, she handed him the pail and told him where he would find the cows. He milked the two of them, watered them, and throw down hay in the manger. The young soldier then fed the pigs and returned to the house. He asked if lie might come in for a mompnt, to which the still puzzled Mrs Wright assented. The soldier then told her he was Private Ernest Fellner, and his home was on a Pennsylvania farm. Stationed in a camp in Kentucky; he had taken advantage of a furlough to visit his sweetheart in this community. Catching a ride as far as the Wright home he felt homesick for the farm, and turned in at her door and asked to do the chores. After a friendly visit he left happily on his way. really appreciative of having the opportunity to do a bit of farm work.
