CAMERA HINTS.
SIMPLE RULES FOR AMATEURS.. Three practical suggestions are offered ; mateur camera fans by the wellknown news and feature photographer (Peter Martin) in the current issue of Popular Photography. First, select a simple back ground. ’Confusion of many objects in sharp focus deflects the eye from centre of interest. If nothing else is handy, the sky is reliable, time-proven backdrop. Second, find an interesting shooting angle—one that will emphasise sony? outstanding characteristic of the subject. General]y’s«peaking, head-on views are dull and ’uninteresting. Third, have your subject do something interesting and natural. Fullfront shots, with subject looking stolidly into the lens, makes for little more than the all-too-familiar passport type of photo. Animation, a provocative expression, laughter and talking will give the picture a valuable dash of vitality.
