WHAT ABE THE PATRIOTIC FUNDS ?
lhe National Patriotic Fund Board, from its funds, supplies the following institutions with the whole of the finance required to carry cut their war work, so that these institutions do not appeal to the public for funds, except, of course, to carry on their peace-time activities:—Y.M.C. A., Catholic War Services Fund Board, Church Army, Salvation Army, Navy League War Council, Air Force Relations, Joint Council of the Order of St. John and N.Z. Red Cross Society (for sick, wounded, and prisoners of war). These institutions, between them, spend considerably more than 50 per cent, of the National Patriotic Fund. All moneys received by them, by way of receipts from buffet services, etc., do not remain the property of the institution, but are paid to the National Patriotic Fund Board.
