BOWLING
KAIKOURA CLUB. An executive meeting of the club was held in Takahanga (Pavilion on Tuesday evening, those in attendance, were Alessrs E. H. Workman (in the chair), S. L. Evans, E. G. Church, R. AlacLennan, W. A. Stephens, J,. K. Walker and R. S. Williams (actingsecretary). Apologies were received for the absence of Alessrs E. W. Harris and H. R. Miller. The resignation of Air J. C. Smith as treasurer and member of the executive was received with regret, and the secretary was elected to act as treasurer. Owing to the financial position of the club it was resolved that the guarantee at the Bank be cancelled. As some of the competitions are not yet completed, the remaining matches will be set down for definite days and they must be played on those dates. It was reported to the committee that the green had been partially rolled and played on during the week. The executive deprecated such a practice, ami moved that a notice be put up to the effect that if the green is rolled the whole green must be done. Handicap Pairs.
In the second round of the handicap pairs competition M. Reardon and A. Trudgian (s) beat E. G. Church and H. IL ATiller (s) 25—15. One semifinal match has been played—R. MacLcnnan and J. A .Reid (s) beating H. C. Harrison and J. C. Smith (s) by 25 to 20. The other semi-final match between J. Gagliardi (s and A. Trudgian (s) will be played at the week-end. Handicap Singles. In the second round A. Howard 18 beat E. W. Harris 17, and A. Trudgian 22 beat F. Smith 10. Howard and Trudgian will play on Saturday afternoon, the winner to play AV. R. Carsou in one semi-final on the same day. Junior Pairs Championship. This competition will be played on Saturday afternoon.
