MAYFAIR THEATRE

* * 'SPORTING BLOOD. ’ ’ Robert Young, Alaureen O’Sullivan, Lewis Stone, \\ illiani Gargau. ami Lynne Carva combine their varied talents in “Sporting Blood,” to be shown at the Alayfair Theatre to-morrow night for one performance .only. The picture is one of the most thrilling action pictures which has even been seen here, and is a race track story in a new setting and with an entirely new idea. It has all the thrills of bigraces being run, with a spectacular lire thrown in for good measure. Yet its basis is that of prejudice against a young man and his battle to overcome it. Young plays a young racing stable owner who is hated by Lewis Stone because Young’s father had once run away with Stone’s wife. Young battles this prejudice even to falling in love with Lynne Carver, the older of Stone’s daughters. When she jilts him, Young marries Aliss O’Sullivan for spile, and learns how much he needs her love. All the players are excellent. “NICE GIRL.” On Saturday and Monday a delightful musical comedy, entitled “Nice Girl,” will be screened, with Deanna. Durbin, Franchot Tone, Walter Brennall, Robert Stack, Robert Benchley and Helen Broderick in the leading roles. Songs included in the programme are “There’ll Always be an England,” “Thank You, America,” and “Old Folks at Home.”
