OUR PRIME MINISTER.

IN CAR ACCIDENT IN EGYPT. WELLINGTON, May 29. , The Prime Minister <the Kt. Hon. P. Freser) has had a narrow escape from serious injury in a severe car accident -Egypt: according to tn announcement made to-day by the Acting-Prime Minister (Ho. W. Nash). The permanent head of the Prime Minister’s Department (Mr C. A. Bor endsen) also escaped injury, and, with Mr Fraser, is reported to be quite well. Mr C. A. Jeffery, chief private secretary, suffered rather severe injuries, but is condition is improving. Brigadier N. S. Falla was also injured and is reported to be making good progress. Another passenger, Captain Downes, is suffering from minor injuries and shock.

The driver of the car suffered a broken thigh and is also suffering from shock.

The accident was caused through a tyre bursting and the car somersaulting.

Mr Nash said that he had sent to those who had been injured a message of sympathy and good wishes for a complete recovery from the Government and the people of the Dominion, and he had expressed on their behalf the relief which will be felt at the escape of the Prime Minister and Mr Berendsen.
