The ' people know that I attack with truth. 1 I may be hard and my words may sting and hurt, but I do not indulge in lying.” r This statement was made to-day by * the Minister of Public Works (the Hou. R. Semple) in reply to that made bv 1 Air S. G. Holland. M.P. After reiterating his statement that several members of the Opposition had expressed regret at Mr Holland’s raising in the House the question of the ’ appointment of Mr Semple’s sou as a traffic inspector. Mr Semple said he ■ would never accuse Mr Forbes or Mr Coates of descending to the level of making an attack in that way, nor would he accuse Mr Hamilton, the present Leader of the National Party. “Their conception of clean fighting 1 and political morality is above that,’' said Mr Semple. “ I expect that kind Of stuff from political infants and individuals with unbalanced 'minds.”
