CHEVIOT NEWS

Miss A. E. Baker, of the Church Missionary Society, visited Cheviot at the week-end and addressed the congregations at the Anglican services on. Shindav. She was the guest of the Rev. G. Widdup and Mrs Wid-dup. Miss Baker left for Christchurch on Monday. The monthly meeting of the Cheviot School Committee was prosified over by Mr A. C. Fuller. It was agreed to circularise householders of the district to ascertain the number of pupils that would attend a high school if it was established iu Cheviot. Mr A. C. Barnes offered to overhaul the pumping engine at the school. Gifts of a skipping rope and of a leather punch from Mr C. Dierck were accepted with thanks.
