PUBLIC FAREWELL
A public meeting was held in the Public. Library on Tuesday evening, when arrangements were made to have a farewell function for Mi end Mrs Janies Murray, who are having for Wairoa. Mr F. J. Monk (County Chairman) presided, and there was a good attendance. It was resolved that a social and dance be held in the Drill Hall on Tuesday, July 3, commencing at 8 p.m. It was decided that those present form themselves into a committee and meet again in the Public Library on Monday, July 2. Messrs H. Wilson and I’. Burgoyne were ejected joint secretaries. The Kaikoura Orchestral Society agreed Io make the programme arrangements. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded a very enthusiastic meeting.
