A dance will be held in the Suburban Hall on Saturday. July 7. A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court will be held on Wednesday, -Inly 4. There will he table tennis, musical items, dancing and supper at the Band evening to-morrow (Friday) night. The monthly meeting of the Kaikoura County Council will be held on Friday next, July 6. Tenders are invited by the Kaikoura Daily Company for the construction of a reinforced concrete catch pit. The Farmers’ Ball is to take place at Suburban Hal! on Frida v August 10. Alexandei who is shortly leaving the district on transfer. The evening was pleasantly spent in dancing. During an interval, Mr R. Grant in a speech, referred to the many good qualities of the guest and wished him all good luck and prosperity in the future. All present joined in singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Follow.” Mr Alexander suitably replied. Music for the dancing was supplied by Mr W. Thomas, extras being played by Misses E. and Al. Mackie ond L.
