Farmers in the district are experiencing great difficulty in sowing their season’s wheat, owing to the wet state of the ground. The heavy rain that fell on Friday night will incnase the delay in preparing the soil. It is several years since the ground has been so wet at this time of the year, and the rainfall for the current year is approximately 23 inches, which exceeds the total fall for the whole of if st year by nearly three inches. There have been numerous hard frosts during the last few weeks, and a considerable number of dull days. A spell of dry warm weather, sunny days would be greatly appreciated. Two exceptionally hard frosts have been experienced in the township on last Sunday and Monday mornings. The most severe frost for the season was recorded on Monday morning, when aproximately 14 degrees was registered.
