Mr Speight. Curator at the Canterbury Museum, writes as follows to Mr A. Hansen, of Avoca Street:— “The specimens you sent down, taken from the stomach of a groper, are shrimps, but they do not belong to anything at all common. I referred them to Dr. Chilton, who is an expert on this class of animals, and he said that he had seen nothing like them, so they may be new' to science. We arc examining them further, and referring to other descriptions-, but up to the present have found nothing that fits them. If we do find out their precise name I will let you know, but after all, they may be entirely new and not reported before. ’ ’
