THE PICTURES.
At the Picture Theatre on Saturday night, in addition to the screening of an excellent pri gramme which’ was highly appreciated, some excellent photographs wore shown on the screen of Kaikoura residents, also views, etc, the photographs being taken by Mr A. G. Miskin. “ SHIRLEY OF THE CIRCUS.” The star attraction at the local Picture Thca-tr? to-morrow night is a William Fox production, entitled'“Shirley of the Circus,” starring Shirley Mason. In this picture there are thrills in plcn- *■ -, a real human story of real live people. characters wo all know, portrayed by actors and actresses of exceptional ability, ami then, most important of all, there is Shirley Mason, whose dainty beauty and compelling personality fairly radiate joy and good cheer throughout the entire entertainment. All the glamour and glitter of a big circus ring, the ravishing beauties and roaring beasts, the clowns, the contortionists, acrobats and acrialists, the side shows of human and inhuman freaks, through which run;; a heart-gripping story of love, revenge and retribution, make litis a swift moving and entertaining romance. The supporting items include a Fox News, a Mutt and Jeff cartoon, and a Clyde Cook two-rc-cl special comedy, “The Guide.”
