The story of a ('.'.mberwell vestry pensioner’* death from starvation was told at an impost at Camberwell recently on WiPiam Bnghy (73), who occupied a four-roomed house at Peckhum. lie had never spoken to his nextdoor neighbour, who at. times sent him food. It was stated that a man used to.call dally on Bugby a"hd bring him food. On .Monday morning there was no an-ver to his call at the house, ami Bugby was found lying unconscious on th.-.* floor, dying ::n hour later. The Cf-rmur’s oftiaer said the hom-.e and Bugby himself were very neglected. A sum of <133 in securities, bonds, and Treasury notes was found. \ doctor inform: <1 the Coroner that there was not a particle of fat on. the body, amJ all the organs were wasted. The jury returned a verdict that death was due to starvation.
