UNDERGROUND PASSAGE PROM CASTLE.
Sheffield Corporation workmen on gaged on excavation work in Manor Lane have discovered a well-preserved underground passage about live feet in height by two feet wide. It is believed that there was a connecting passage between the old Manor J Louse ami Sheffield Castle, which housed distinguished prisoners at various times. Mary. Queen of Scots was imprisoned in the castle, ami Cardinal Wolsey was also a prisoner there just before his donth.
