It could be deliberately caused with . petrol soa ked rag and with the engine running.
1 . rrhere would be no difficulty in picking up a spark and igniting the rag. Norman Josephson, consulting engineer, deposed that it was not possible to cause fire in the manner suggested by the plaintiff, Smith.
Witness expressed the opinion that the fire could be caused by a loosening of the clip of the petrol supply pipe, allowing petrol to ooze out slowly and igniting hy a spark from one of the plugs.
