REACHES A CLIMAX POLICE AND GAN&STEJt* CLASH CASUALTIES ON BOTH HID ES NEW VOEK, Afigurt £2. The gangsters’ crime wave reached a climax when warfare flared up in the Metropolitan area. Two policemen were elidt dead and six others wounded. Three robbers were slain and fifteen citizens were wounded. Outlawry was renewed in the name district where bandits recently fired into the crowd, killing a child. Today the robbers raided Mendozia I'm- -Company. They killed & jpatrob man who was guarding the payroll and escaped with a thousand sterling. Speeding away, the bandits fired on a niptorear carrying a woman, child and fireman who ‘the bandits mistook for policemen. All were badly wounded as the robbers raked the car with a machine gun. The bandits were brought to bay in the Bronx, after scooting another patrolman and two were killed. All police reserves were called out.
