Mr George Horne, Christchurch, is at present on a visit to Reefton. Miss J. Williams, who has been residing at Glentunnel. Canterbury, returned home last week-end. Mr Patrick J. Hurley, of Oklahoma, has been selected as United States Secretary of War. P. L. Minn (Auckland), and J. C. Kakin (Otago), have been chosen as the 1929 Rhodes scholars.
