CUMBERLAND.

The mine manager reports for the week : I have driven six feet on tliK reef iv the west drive and am now cutting through it. Have crossed -it about six. feet ami no sign of hanging wall. The stone is of excellent quality lind the gold is very coarse. The slopes are all looking well and have an average thickness of four feet and is of the usual quality. The oarters have taken, about 110 tons from the mine and there are übout 210 tans in the Drake and battery paddocks. The contractors in the low level have driven 26ft for the week, makiug to.^al distance 80ft. The battery commonceci crushing this morning.
