BIG RIVER.
The mine nmuagei reports having timbered up the drive to the new reef which took longer than he expected. The reef went back south 16 feet from the crosscut, making the distance driven on stone 30 feet, out of which he got 55 tons of stone showing gold freely. In the old reef, after driving eight feet, the stone lumped into the hanging wall, and on this account he did not get a3 much stone as waß expected. Owing to the timber for the water race not being on the ground, it cauuot be completed until about Wednesday.
