MEN AND THE WOMEN FEDERATION AND DIVISION “Would your members cooperate with us in the f orming of new branches of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers in the Coromandel peninsula area, particularly at Mercury Bay, Coroglen and Whenuakite,” asked the secretary, Mrs L. R. Scott, of the Thames Valley province, in a letter to the December meeting at Thames of the Northern Thames sub j provincial executive. The letter went on to state that the housekeeping secretary had received many calls from those areas throuigh Federated Farmers and she f elt that the formation of branches would belip very much. The chairman, Mr S. E. Hall, replied that the organisation would do everything possible to assist and appealed to members to give every help to the women’s division in extending their branches. Mir Scott addressed the meeting and urged the formation of women’s branches in the areas set out in her letter. Mrs Hamilton spoke of 'the advanitaiges which would result from the formation of a branch at Coroiglen and Whenuakite. A proposal that the women’s di vision shofuld hold its meetings in each locality on the same day as Federated Farmers, was approved by the meeting, 'Mrs Scott stating that such an arrangement was already operating in some localities.
