ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS AT WHITIANGA The annual meeting of the Whitianga Girl Guide Association was held at Mrs R. A. Smith’s residence recently. Mrs Oxley was in the chair. Miss Josephine Hughes gave a report on the year’s work and Mrs A. Chaney gave a bright and comprehensive account of the conference meeting at Napier. Mrs Oxley thanked all those who had helped the movement during the year. The election of officers resulted as follows:—
President, Mrs W. Oxley; vicepresidents, Mrs Chaney and Mrs Edwards; secretary, Mrs R. A. Smith; committee, Mesdames A. J. T. Simpson, N. V. Smith, A. Crabb, Chaney, Sewell, Edwards, F. W. Lee, R. H. Simpson, W. Lowe, Miss P. McMillan. Brownie badge examiners are to he asked to continue to take the children for their tests.
The annual Brownie picnic was held at Hardy’s beach and Brownies, Guides and members of the committee spent a happy day swimming, climbing and specimen hunting. Each child received a packet of jelly beans.
