WIN FOR PIPIROA
KEREPEHI TEAM BEATEN A Pipiroa tennis team travelled to Kerepehi on Sunday last to play a long delayed match and narrowly defeated the home team by eight games to seven. Most games were vejry evenly contested and although the ■heat was a little trying at times a very enjoyable day was had by both 1 spectators and players. \ Details of results with Pipiroa names mentioned first were:—
Ladies’ singles: Miss E. Wallis defeated Miss J. Candy, 7—l; Miss E. Scott defeated Miss L. Poland, 7—4; Miss L. Scott defeated Miss E. Patterson, 7—6; Miss D. Dalgety lost to Mrs W. Kidd, 7—2. Ladies’ doubles: Misses E. Wallis and Scott defeated Misses J. Candy and L. Poland, 7—5; Misses L. Scott and D. Dalgety lost to Mis E. Patterson and Mrs Kidd, 2—7. Men’s singles: L. Ridings lost to A. McLean, B—9; C. Keane defeated T. Samuels, 9—7; T. Keane defeated P. •Connor, 9 —4; G. Tito defeated L. Clark, 9—B; N. McDonald lost to J. Wallbutton, 5—9; D. Wilson lost to W. Fowler, I—9. Men’s doubles: Keane and Ridings defeated McLean and Samuels, 9— 7; Keane and Tito defeated Connor and Clark, 9—3; McDonald and Wilson lost to Wallbutton and Fowler, 2—9.
