WORK IN COUNTY
ENGINEER’S REPORT MONTH OF SEPTEMBER OHINEMURI COUNCIL MEETS • In making his report to the October meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council, covering the work carried out by the staff during the month of September last, the county engineer, Mr L. E. Shaw, stated as follows:— Hikutaia-Netherton Main Highway: “General maintenance has been carried out and the road is in good order. Authorities for maintenance and new sealing have 'been received. “Hubbard’s road having been patched is in good order. With increasing supplies of metal maintenance is being caught up with on the side roads. Thames road crushing plant: “With the completion of the crushing plant all available labour has been concentrated on quarrying and crushing. The loader has arrived and is to be delivered today. Trouble is again being experienced at the Thames road plant. During the last two week-ends vandals have been the cause of damage and generally causing nuisance. “Bridges generally, due to the lack of maintenance, are deteriorating. Four concrete pipes have been delivered to the site in readiness to replace a small wooden bridge on the
