WIN F-OiR WAITAKARURU
PATETONGA A TEAM BEATEN
On Saturday last the Patetonga Tennis Club’s A team journeyed to Waitakaruru to play-the local A team.
The weather could not have been better and some excellent tennis by both the visitors and the home players was witnessed, the match resulting in a win for Waitakaruru with a score of 10 games to Patetonga’s five. With the Waitakaruru names placed, first, results were as follows: — Ladies Singles: Mrs V. H. Dibble, 5 lost to Mrs Sybil Dibble, 7; Mrs Hegh, jun., 7 defeated Miss Knight, 3; Mirs Smythe, 7 defeated Mrs M. Foote, 5; Mrs Riley, 7 defeated Mrs Hart, 6.
doubles: Mrs V. H. Dibble and Mrs Hegh, jun., 7 defeated Mrs S. Dibble and Miss Knight, 5; Mrs Smythe and Riley, 7 defeated Mrs Foote and Mrs Hart, 1.
Men’s singles: B. Hegh, 9 defeated J. Pullman, 5; R. Paton, 9 defeated G. Reid, 8; N. Paton, 5 lost to T. * O’Dwyer, 9; J. • Grant, 6 lost to C. Sweeney, 9; P. Harris, 5 lost to L. Garry, 9; G. McGaffin, 1 lost to G. Hart, 9.
