HIKUTAIA MEMORIAL
MINISTER CONSIDERING
DIFFICULTY OVER TITLE
The request of the Ohinemuri County Council for a subsidy in respect of the Hikutaia war memorial was receiving consideration, stated the Hon. W. A. Bodkin, Minister of Internal Affair, in a letter to the October meeting of the council held recently in Paeroa. Cr J- A. Lowry, stated that it was proposed to go ahead with the memorial scheme though there were certain complications relative to the vesting of the title to the lands.
It was resolved that the letter be received and further developments awaited.
