GOLF BALL
MARAMARUA FUNCTION
VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENING
The annual golf ball which took place recently in Maramarua hall, was well attended, visitors being present from as far north and south as Helensville* and Murupara respectively. The hall had been attractively decorated by junior club members and the home cooked supper surpassed even previous efforts. Always a popu-
lar function because of the party spirit prevailing, the crowd was loth to let the Jolly Millers’ orchestra go at 2 a.m., when after the hoki toki and la conga the last dance was announced. During the evening a Monte Carlo and spot waltz were won by Miss N. Manning and Mr G. Babich and Mr and Mrs Buckingham respectively. Seen among the dancers were:— Mesdames L. Shanks, black skirt, cherry bodice; S. Finlayson, blue lace and net; I. Gummer, black with pink revers; C. Mclndoe, blue crepe, cerise trimming; L. Dickson, white cloque; G. Blake, white Swiss organdie; E. Williscroft, black silk crepe; E. Smith, black taffeta ballerina skirt with blouse; T. Ansell, • lilac shot‘taffeta; V.
