WAITAKARURU WINS

KOPUARAHI’S 67 RUNS LOSS

A comfortable win by 67 runs was scored by the Waitakaruru cricket team over Kopuarahi last week-end at Kopuarahi. Wilson, of Waitakaruru, hit three sixes and three fours before he was dismissed at 33. Wells bowled well and took two wickets for 13 runs with three maiden overs. G. Williams of the home team played confidently until he was caught in the ou| field by Yeager with a brilliant catch.

D. WALLIS PERFORMS WELL

The most outstanding feature of the match between the Kerepehi and United cricket clubs which was played at Hopai on Saturday last when United won by over an innings, was the performance of D. Wallis of United. He has made an exceptional

start this -season and in the first two matches has a batting average of 92. He has also proved himself an excel-, lent bowler and on Saturday routed the Kerepehi bats, finishing with five wickets for eight runs.

Kerepehi on the other hand could field only eight men and the bowlers, Dudley and Burton, did a good job keeping United’s total down as much as they did. Results were as follows:—
