COROGLEN POST OFFICE
COUNCIL DISCUSSION QUESTION OF A NEW SITE The Post Office at Coroglen stands on the State main highway, according to a letter fram the Ministry of Works placed before the October meeting of the Coromandel County Council. The letter went on to state that the owner of adjoining land had offered a site free of cost about 30 feet away (from the present site. The letter- said it was generous offer and advised the council to accept and so remove an illegality which now existed. Mr W. J. Hare said the people of Coroglen did not want the P&st Office moved. They had tried to buy a site for it but the owner refused to sell. After a discussion it was proposed by the chairman, Mr E. Deeble, and seconded by Or S. H. Le Roy-Dyson, that the matter be referred back to the Works Department, asking for the position of site and the tenure of same to be clarified. Tha motion was carried.
