WIN FOR NGATEA A / PIPIROA TEAM‘DEFEATED ' On Saturday, October 21, Ngatea A tennis team travelled to Pipiroa to play an Association match and was successful in winning by nine games to Pipirqa’s six. The play was of a good standard and although early in the season some excellent games were witnessed. The results, With Ngatea names mentioned first, were as follows:— Men’s singles: R. WAITAKARURU WINS TURUA TEAM DEFEATED Played under blue skies on the hot•test day this spring, the tennis match between Turua and Waitakaruru clubs at the Waitakaruru courts last Saturday was enjoyable for. both players and spectators. The games resulted in a win for the home team, the result being Waitakaruru nine, Turua six. With Waitakaruru names placed first, scores were as follows:— Ladies’ singles: Mrs V. H. Dibble 7 defeated Mrs Madgwick 1; -Mrs Hegh, junior 7 defeated Miss Baird 2; Mrs F. Smythe 7 defeated Miss. F. Marshall 4; Mrs Riley 2 lost to M)rs Marshall 7.
