FIRST MATCH PLAYED
PATETONGA A DEFEATED
Patetonga A tennis team played Ngatea at Ngatea on Saturday last it being the first match of the>* season. Ngatea won by 11 games to four. The weather was beautifully fine and some good tennis was witnessed.

Mien’s singles: G. Reid 3 lost to R. Ridings 9; J. Pulman 4 lost to H. Pentecost 9; T. O’Dwyer 8 lost to J. Constantine, 9; L. Garry 3 defeated D. Reid 2; C. Sweeney 3 lost to L. Sherlock 9; N. Whiteman 5 lost to E. Barber 9.
Ladies’ singles: S. Dibble 3 'lost to N. Constantine 7; E. Knight 1 lost to I. McCollum, 7; I. Foote 5 lost to E. Benner, 7; G. Hart 7 defeated K. Jackson 4.
Men’s doubles; T. O’Dwyer and G. Reid 6 lost to R. Ridings and H. Pentecost 9; J. Pulman and L. Garry 9 defeated E. Barber and J. Constantine 5; C. Sweeney and N. Whiteman 9 defeated D. Reid and L. Sherlock 5.
