MISS O’BRIEN ISHOWS FILMS MANGATARATA DIVISION In order to coincide with the visit of Miss O’Brien with her set of mobile pictures on health, the September meeting of the Mangatarata branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was held at a later date than usual. Mrs Cropp presided and bush ness was put through expeditiously. . After luncheon the children and their teacher assembled in the old school, where Miss O’Brien showed a variety of health films, which were both instructive and entertaining for young and old. Miss O’Brien was accorded a vote of thanks by acclamation, and she promised to return again early next year. Hostesses were Mrs Bunis, Miss I. Marshall, Mrs Skinner and Mrs Flynn, while for next month Mesdames L. Main and Harris, senior, will officiate in that capacity. After discussion it was decided to take part in both the dressmaking and arts and crafts branches under the adult education scheme. Competitions were won as follows:— Best bloom, Mrs McQuoid, 1; Mrs L. Main, 2; Mrs Cropp, 3. Vase of flowers, Mrs Cropp, 1; Mrs McQuoid, 2 The singing national anthem brought a very pleasant meeting to a close.
