Verandah Posit' Smashed 1 An iron post on the kerbside supporting the verandah across the footpath in front of Mr Allan Boulton’s shop in Normanby road, Paeroa, Was broken on Saturday night last when a vehicle backed into it.’ It is thought that the vehicle must have been a motor bus though definite information was not available at the time of going to press. "Because Mr H. Dalgety’s car • had been damaged twice, due to the pooy condition of the Waiomu Creek road, Cr W. H. B. ! Colbeck asked the Thames County Council at , its} last meeting that its condition be improved. The road, although legalised, is .poorly formed, with a rise in the centre and a foundation of boulders. Cr Colbeck. was instructed to examine the road and make the improvements he thought necessary.
