PIPIROA BRIDGE

“When in Wellington ‘last -week I made enquiries regarding the progress on the plans for the Pipiroa bridge,” stated a letter from (Mr A. S. Sutherland; M.P. for Hauraki, to the July meeting of tih-e Hauraki Plains County Council.
“Mr MicKi-llop, chief engineer, Wonks Department, informed me that the ‘design of the (bridge was well under way and he was treating as urgent the question' (of driving the test piles. I vfill keep the matter before the department,” concluded the letter. The chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, said that while he was in Wellington recently he had waited upon the Minister of Works, Mr W. S. Goosman, and had been advised that tenders would be called shortly for the construction of the approaches to the (bridge to be built in conjunction with drivof the test piles.
